My “old school” music club is closing…

Yes I still belong to a music club, and yes I still like buying CDs.  Call me old school all you want…but I still like having the “hardware”.  The sleeve, the album art, the lyrics, the “thank you’s”, etc.  I bought from because, well, it was cheap – $5.99 / CD.  That’s 50% cheaper than downloading the entire album from iTunes, hence the email I received below…

I just wonder how long it will be before Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. pull CDs from their shelves.  2 years? 5 years? 10 years? Digital music downloads are the norm, give it a few years, and cloud based music storage may be all that’s left.  Then again, vinyl is making a comeback, so maybe the analog days will live again.
